Grievances & Redressal Mechanism

Farmers for Forests > Accountability & Compliance Framework
Effective Date: Updated November 2024
Farmers for Forests is committed to the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and ethical conduct. Our time-bound Grievance Redressal Mechanism ensures all stakeholders—including smallholder farmers, tribal communities, field workers, donors, and the general public—have an accessible, fair, and confidential channel to raise concerns, seek remediation, and hold our operations accountable.

1. Purpose & Scope of the Mechanism

This Grievance Redressal Policy provides a structured, time-bound, and transparent framework for identifying, logging, investigating, and resolving any grievances or operational disputes arising from Farmers for Forests Foundation's field projects, community afforestation programs, or organizational conduct.

This policy applies universally across all organizational activities, covering permanent staff, seasonal field personnel, contracted nursery caregivers, corporate partners, indigenous community members, and public donors.

2. Categories of Grievances Handled

Stakeholders may submit grievances across a broad spectrum of organizational touchpoints. Complaints are handled with strict neutrality and categorized as follows:

Field & Agroforestry Operations

Disputes relating to plantation boundaries, seedling allocation, water harvesting assets, survival rate verifications, or nursery worker labor safety standards.

Human-Wildlife Coexistence

Issues regarding wildlife transit corridors, bio-fencing integrity, accidental crop depredation adjacent to reforested parcels, or prompt compensation claims.

Community & Indigenous Welfare

Concerns regarding Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC), equal benefit-sharing, fair daily wage disbursements, or preservation of sacred tribal groves.

Ethics, Fraud & Governance

Allegations of financial mismanagement, bribery, discriminatory behavior, gender-based harassment, breach of donor confidentiality, or regulatory non-compliance.
